Fully licensed by local authority

Ofqual Level 3 Professional Daycare & Boarding

Fully licensed by local authority

In October 2019, we were granted a four-star two-year licence by Kettering Borough Council. This is the highest possible rating for a new business (five star is the maximum award).  There are strict government regulations for animal care services, which prevent anyone offering these services without a licence. As a nation of animal lovers, the new legislation, introduced in October 2018, is intended to protect our pets and make sure they are being cared for safely.

We are fully insured as a pet minder with a comprehensive public and products liability policy which covers claims up to £5 million. This encompasses loss of keys, replacement of locks, dog walking, pet taxi, daycare and home boarding. Our vehicle is also fully insured to transport pets. Cliverton has over 50 years' experience in providing specialist insurance cover to animal-related trades.

With an overall mark of 84%, Kathryn was awarded the Ofqual Level 3 Professional Daycare & Boarding certificate from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) in January 2020. This course is recommended by the Government and is required to achieve the highest ratings as part of licensing regulations.

Ofqual Level 3 Professional Daycare & Boarding

Canine first aid training is mandatory for anyone seeking a licence. Having attended The Animal Therapy Centre, Moulton College, in July 2019, both Kathryn and Paul are canine first aid trained. Being able to administer canine CPR, treat a serious wound and care for a dog having a seizure could save your dog's life. We were also made aware of some of the less obvious signs a dog is in distress and when to seek immediate professional help.

Waste carrier's licence

If you are leaving your house keys in the care of a dog walker (or anyone else visiting your home), you need to know they have no criminal record and have been checked by the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service), formerly known as the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau). You can rest assured that Kathryn has no police records of convictions, cautions, reprimands or warning.
